This is far from the first go-around
for either one of us, though it is still sweet and new.
In our hearts we carry some good old loves
now lost—more than our share of bad love gone wrong.
We turn our eyes to a big open country in front of us.
Find a new trail.
This one feels good,
pretty easy…and comfortable.
Let’s just lift our reins
and go see where it takes us…
